UPDATE .ive got it working now but its connected to Iwnet updated the rank and stuff and is on fetching playlists on both of our games if there a server issue or and update tht needs doing u need to let people no .. ive done all the latest updates and nothing ... i did see somthing on alterIWnet forums saying there going to another web server maybe that the problem hmm ?

You get that error for either being banned/Steam auth failed or using a local server, both are rather bad.

its not cause if i have used hacks before and i get steam authurisation failed .. but ive not used hacks in like 7 weeks i did use a mod menu but only in private matches wich is allowed because they acctually have a mods section in the game ... my mate he dosent use hacks atall and hes getting the same thing ? theres gotta be some problem do you play mw2 on alterIWnet if so you try and go on and see what it says to you and if it lets u on then i no its somthing to do on my side if you understand me ...

Why yes, I do play on alterIW, aint that a shocker?

A local server like the IWserver.exe floating around and then have the alterIWnet.ini configued to connect to the local host or an internal IP.

ive liturally just done that like 10 minutes ago at first on my old version is says somthing like this client of mw2 is not avalable for online play .. and were it said server list it say to be replaced .. i reinstalled it it works but wont fetch the playlist :S confused i aint done anything so that why i no ive no been banned or anything because it a new client ...

d4rkr4y, then you need to delete your cache.xml file and restart alterIW.

i got a new isp and now im unbanned, go figure its banned by IP range.
