I do it, then feather it, it makes it look like it has a glow
i havent tried this personly, but do what i said and then add a outer glow of the oppeosit color from the background, iunno,
I dont get how u use the magic wand to cut the render... every time i make a sig i have to copy and past render to the sig and then erase the parts i dont want.... its getting real annoying as it takes so long to erase everything around the render. and then sometimes accidentally erase part of render then u have to restart.... can someone plz help me with magic wand plz???

my sig is smaller then half the sigs on mpgh
Yo... If you mess up, you don't have to start over, you can just Ctrl+Alt+Z it...
Also known as history, or undo.
Don't just restart it.
What I do is use the wand to select the stuff closest to the render
then I use the crop tool to remove the bigger stuff that isn't close to the render.
Someone should make a tutorial on how to use it effectively. =)
BRING BACK BT, BRING BACK SAGA, BRING BACK VF, BRING BACK MPGHCRAFT, BRING BACK HABAMON
if you change the Tolernace it will change what it will and will not grab as a color, i usually use tolderance between 10-30 depending on what i want to select, only if it is a relatively basic color background completely different than the render, if so then you can use the Pen Tool which is the ACTUAL rending tool (you just zoom right and and use the pen tool to select around the entire render, then reverse the selection to delete the outside)
FYI: if you dont set your pen tool up right and you get a weird black shape, change the pen tool layer that was created opacity down so it will be invisible and continue to pen tool around your object
K ill try some of thoughs.. thanks guys!
I use the polygonic lasso

Obviously the best impersonation of David Hasselhoff.
Yeah. Do what Chrono Said. Im only speaking from what I know of GIMP, so tell me if There are any discrepancies in my explanation:
What you need to do is,as Chrono Said, adjust the Tolerance of the magic wand (It's Called "Threshold" in GIMP land) so that it will select the background color range, but not the actual future-render. The 'paths tool' (if an option in PS) would certainly be one's most favored ally in this, and if nothing else, one could use the "Smart Scissors" (another Questionable item) and just select various in-line points on the outside of the render, making sure to adjust the paths in between the selection points. Then, one can just invert the selection or cut and paste into a new file.
