How to Hack ur PS3

What you have to do is install a linux OS. There is a custom bootloader-type program which Geohot released made for the purpose. Then you gotta open your ps3, and follow geohot's instructions for using a button to send a 40ns pulse to a specified part of the motherboard while a splash screen displays before boot. You have to pulse the mobo lots of times to get it to work.

Eventually, if you don't destroy the mobo, the kernel will boot, and you'll have the linux install up and running.

Then you can bypass the hypervisor and have root access to all the system RAM. You can't, however, make the hypervisor do anything, only go around it. So there's no way to sign or unsign code with the HV's hardware-based encryption.

The most progress made on it so far has been by a group now known as Hades. They're getting closer to unraveling HV level 2, and have written quite a bit of code and released some useful toolkits. And they're the pioneers of a method for rebooting ps3 while preserving its RAM, which is how they dumped level 2.

There is nothing in the way of custom firmware or copying possible at the moment. All you can do is find neat new ways to ignore the hypervisor. If you can write otheros.bld files, Hades has asked for help in that area.

If you're already at FW 3.21 or above, forget it, you can't install OtherOS.

@Nitehawk772 I understand you don't know how to jailbreak, but this tutorial is very vague, you reckon you could leach a tutorial on how to do certain parts of your tutorial for us? Thank-you
