    kinda like an optical illusion you have to hold close to your face so you will see it blurred, then pull it away so you can focus on the hidden image... except all that is done for you

    ....you ever seen one? that's exactly what they are.. repeated images, most commonly simple textures. some times they put actual images like planes, but usually they are just textures.
