I used either Debian/Ubuntu on my laptops, only two with decent drivers, support for nvidia's hybrid gpu thingy with Intel and reasonably well-designed for normal use. Everything else is pretty much hacking your way to the OS you want.

Gentoo or Ubuntu. I like having Ubuntu on a flash drive, even though I rarely use it.

@Dave84311 what does mpgh use as a server? Or doesn't it use it?
Yes it does. And we're in the minority. ******s have estimated that 2% of users worldwide are on linux.

And @Alen I thought you used it too, so which one do you use?
Ubuntu . Because it looks awesome - Compiz + Drivers = win. Fedora looks so bad =P

I also use ChromeOS, which is also Linux, but I'm not sure if it counts.

And for the servers, I used to use CentOS/RHEL, but then being a stable thing of a kind, its packages were almost always a major version behind, so I've tried Ubuntu server and it's been playing quite nicely.

    Only 2%..
People are just too lazy to build their own pc's and install linux.

Default Gnome is ew in general. I prefer my own pimped-out (read: stripped down and sexified) XFCE
