Nope. You can start learning it without knowing any other language. GL.

just remember, don't learn to code to hack, you will give up. Make some cool programs or viruses if that's how you roll, lol. Then after a while when you fell like you have a grip of the syntax, then begin learning asm and winapi, maybe D3D if you wanna make directx hacks. I know it sounds like a lot, but trust me it will be fun. Good luck.

"Cool coder" Lol, cool kid ....

Learning to program, or atleast work in the surroundings works like this: Either you pick it up at the beginning (most of the basics) or you don't, and you're likely to never do.

So if the book don't speak to you, you should quit it. Else if you get most "basic" stuff, you're being taught. Stick with it.

Just get reading, when you read like 20 pages go re-doing all the exercizes and re-making the codes so you will remember always of every exercize you answerzd and the codes... I like to write codes in my school pc and save it in a folder thats named:
    "TEST ANSWER 1"

    I lovu this.
But do what you preferr, remember to try to get into it.
