VB for the most part is a lot easier. It's managed code, and the .NET framework makes it very easy to code simple programs. Personally I'd say go C# instead of VB, then at least you get the feel for a c-style syntax + you get the simplicity of .NET

Pretty much what Jason said. If I am going to use .NET, I'll perfer C#, otherwise simply go with C++.

I think VB.net is alot easier, but I´d go for C++ as its much better, you can do alot of stuff with c++, and C language is yet great, and for you to get a C based Sytax, I think that c++ is the best for you to start with, cause learning C++ Will make it really easy to leaRN any language and also pretty easy to learn C Syntax languages.

I'd recommend him VB rather than C#, lol.

I wouldn't say so. They are equally as good, just useful in different situations.

What do you mean by "fast"? Fast execution or fast programming?

And, to learn how your PC works, how about read about it? No amount of programming will teach you how your your PC really works.(PC == hardware)
