My first sig

This is my first sig making on photoshop and my first avatar (i could have taken the guy on the sig for my avatar but wanted to try just potting my name on it lol) Rate it please on the poll and i would appreciate some comments/tips/advices from people who make sigs here
Oh and also...if someone wanna teach me how to create usefull brushes to make a background yourself,i mean some kinds of lines flying around the character,or making a dog tag chain...anything like that cause of at the moment,i'm only able to play a bit with the text,do reflections,superpose pictures,cut them from the background,and other blending options.This is pretty limited i think and would like to learn more and become better. Thanks!!

Try to get a free version of photoshop and learn about that. I like to use brushes to make my backgrounds. Then I use blending options and really make it contrast. There are a lot of sites with really cool renders.

no offence but all you did was add text to a picture it doesnt look like you spent alot of time on it, woody is right use custom bruses and nice filters in your background i did that with my first sig(its still on here cause it was the first one i made)\/\/\/

yeah i know,i'm not really good with brushes,but it will come!! but all what i did is i toock a picture,cuted the background, then i addeed some shadows at the right,i did remove the background of the picture i used to have mu soldier and finaly i used an old tutorial i saw some years ago lol (cccause i already used photoshop but i didnt last 1 week with it lol) but i always loved photoshop and thanks woody forr those sites, i will check it out for sure. see ya!

i changed my pict ...i used custom brushes and text...added shadows and some outer glow and BAM here it is pretty simple but already better than my last one...now i will make a sig and will try to make a background myself using custom brushes and text (maybe i will put in a soldier or a jet or a tank,i dont know we'll see! thank for your sites and tips...it already helped me to progress!

for brushes, just go to devient art and go to most popular all time and get the ones you like, i got like 50 brush sets ther on the first 8 pages
