I had the exact same problem when I tried to install. The problem is probably that you have Windows XP.

I don't use any other persons texture hacks. I created my own using the tutorials on this site.

you can't get banned for it
but you might get an error so make a backup

and if you get that error do it manually open the iwd files from the main folder with winrar and place the files you want in the right file

Guys, seriously. I'm having trouble finding a simple hack for MW2 which shows people outlined in boxes and shows me their location on my (or a new seperate) mini-map. I also don't want it to get me banned. Either I suck at searching or it's really, really fucking hard to find something.

For XP, may I add.

And to fix that, unzip 1.6.rar and then install all the textures manually with PakScape

ya, you cant get banned for using texture hacks as of now. but not sure if vac policy changes but i doubt it :/
