copy your whole directory from steam so the whole COD mw2 folder, place it on the desktop, then download the necessary files from alteriw website place them in the same folder and follow the instructions that came with the AIW files.

Also you can just select to install all of the AlterIWNet files into your MW2 Steam Directory and then you can use the Map packs for both Steam and AlterIWNet if you switch over.
