there's this solid black behind the text yet the text just remains as bright i think it should be dark on the left side or moved closer to the render

It looks a lot better. I'd put some text on overlay somewhere in one of the 33% points.
'ya know.. tippy: Do "New Guide" 33% and 66% horizontal and vertical.
Good text placement locations, also good places for focuses.

Why, though? It's sitting there in a near-black background. I don't understand why it looks better with that text. He should put new, more elegant text in there.

I'm talking about the non-text version compared to the text version, not how the text looks. Look at that blank space on the left. It's a great place to cover up that blank space. But yea, the text needs a more "elegant" one there.
