Alienware is just a really overpriced status symbol, just like Apple. You don't by an Alienware because you think they are superior, you buy them because you want to show off..

When I bought my laptop I checked Alienware and a laptop with the same hardware as what I got for 3400€ was close to 5000€, that's a little too much for a cool chassis..

It's sexy. But personally I couldn't care less about how my computer looks when it's just gonna stand on the floor under my desk anyway. Then it's instead better to use the money on something that will improve the computer. Like an SSD drive or something.
