Lol. I know that verse, but I think you might exaggerate it a bit. Alcohol is also harming the body as you get it in your blood. But still Jesus and his diciples (as well as Abraham and many others) drank wine. I know they didn't get drunk and all that stuff, but still. My point is, if you smoke once a month it won't harm your "temple".

I also completley disagrees with you on the tattoos. Why can't Christians have tattoos with symbols they like if they want to? Maybe it's a bit painful, but the pains doesn't last forever, and you won't live a shorter life if you do it.

You only quote parts from the "Torah" part of the Bible. The first five books, Genesis to Deuteronomy are old, and I believe that we cannot interpret everything literally in our modern society. 6000 years ago people "marked" their bodies for other reasons than they do today.

Neither Catholics nor Protestants nor anyone I can think of follows the Old Testament. They just quote parts of it for their own purposes.
