Do pro-life people (the ones who think abortion should be ilegal) sympathize with this ideas due to their religious beliefs? If they do, to what extent does their religion influence their thoughts? If they don't, what is the main cause of their sympathy with this ideas?

Well, I'm neither for or against it. It's just one of those things that I find should be best left to the parents and should be decided on with no regard to their religion. You're thinking of your future baby's life. It rests in your hands - so to speak. If you feel that the best choice for your baby is for it's life to end its journey early, so be it but do so 100% sure that it's THE BEST thing to do for it. If you decide to go through with the entire pregnancy and you can't support the baby after it's born, you can always put it up for adoption or put it into foster care. However, say you're 3-4 months into your pregnancy and you can't even afford to take care of the baby then. If that's the case, by all means abort the baby. It makes no sense ruining two lives in order to give life to one of those two. Ending it's life early puts it out of much potential hardcomings when it is born. Now you may say that's what makes living living but is it really worth it putting your child through all of that? I'm not all too familiar with how abortions work but I'm pretty sure the baby doesn't feel a thing.

And then there's whether or not should the baby suffer the consecuences of something that wasn't even his mother's fault (in case she was raped). It's not the baby's fault if you were raped, therefore, why should he be stripped from the right of living?

Well, if you think about it, aborting a "rape baby" would be beneficial to both the mother and child. The mother, if she chooses to go through with the birth, would probably spend the rest of her life thinking of her rape every time she sees the child. That would bring about some awkward moments. And if she neglects the baby because of her rape then she's bringing unnecessary pain to the child as well.

This opens up to the question:

'Is the fetus or unborn baby a separate individual?'

As for myself, I consider him or she as a different entity since the moment of conception. Now it is fine to say that forbidding abortion is to deprive women from the right of taking control of their own bodies. Nevertheless, isn't allowing abortion to deprive the human from the right of living? Now when a mother's life is in danger due to pregnancy, this is an entirely different issue. If the mother does not decide/isn't allowed to abort, her very life would be in danger, but maybe the baby will live. If she is allowed to abort and decides to proceed, the baby's life will be lost. So this should become a personal decision, however ethical it may be considered by the woman involved. Now, I am not saying that abortion should be legal, but only available for those women with health issues who's life would be endangered by pregnancy.

Now, abortions in the US done because of medical reasons are extremely rare. The state of California wrote '...abortions for medical reasons are extremely rare...'.

Now let's imagine if both sides of the argument would be accepted separetly.

If abortion was made legal (I don't know how it works in the US but in Peru it's ilegal):
-The abortions for convenience would rise dramatically.
-The amount of woman travelling to other countries in order to get an abortion would be non-existant.
-The whole 'death rate rising' thing is a complete myth, for the national statistics in every country do not count abortion as a death.
-This decision, however, might be seen as unmoral or unethical, for when a woman realizes she is pregneant, or can even see changes in her body, the fetus-baby already has a beating heart.

If abortion was made ilegal:
-There would still be abortions being provided secretly (e.g. drugs are ilegal, but they're active in modern society)
-Woman would travel to other countries to get the abortions or even find doctors who would do it in their own countries (this doctors, however, are mostly unexperienced)
-In countries were abortion is ilegal, 186 women die per day due to complications from unsafe or unprepared abortions.
-In the United States, the death rate from abortion is 0.6 per 100,000 procedures, making it as safe as an injection of penicillin. The death rate is literally hundreds of times higher where abortion is illegal.



NOTE:That something is legal does not make it right. In Nazi Germany, it was legal to kill children up to 3 years old with malfunctions or diseases (until 1934 or '35 I think when this law was changed in order to be able to kill sick people in every age). The Holocaust was also legal. The murders in Soviet Russia (including the Ukrainian Famine) were also legal. Legaslization does not make something right.

I'd say it's wrong to have an abortion because that's killing another human. And if you don't want to have kids, just wear a condom. If it's rape, just put the kid in some adoption place if you can't stand it. (even though you'll have to pay all the medical expenses) Or, just carry a gun and have a conceal and carry license. That's what I go by.
