Funny thing is, sometimes newegg ninjas some 5830s for like $10 less then a 5770 but then they sellout within hours

Wouldn't know about US prices, over here the 5770 is usually way cheaper

Not to mention that the 5770 has lots of room for OC improvements...

How is that a bad thing? Usually they do so for a reason, I've never seen custom cards perform worse than the reference ones

Unless he's stuck with some extremely old board he should have at least one pcie x16 slot capable of running a normal gfx card
