    Ubuntu

    @Bass. @Hodgy
I need some of you guys that use Ubuntu to help me about some things..
    Should I install it?
Don't comment about games, I don't play any.
When I install it, does it overwrite my whole hard disk or does it keep my current files?
    Is it faster than Windows?
I have wireless connection, so do I lose that option when installing Ubuntu?
What browser is given in Ubuntu?
Is there an Ubuntu market from where I download applications?

How it handles your partitioning is up to you, it's most likely faster than any other OS you've used so far. A barebone Ubuntu installation can use as little as ~230 megs of ram I think.

And just get Synaptic or something for package management, the default browser is FF but I prefer Chromium (package name should be chromium-browser).

    tl;dr: Depends, Faster, Firefox.

With no arguments, that sounds like some solid advice.

Imo you should give Ubuntu a shot, if you don't like Gnome try KDE, lots of Windows users prefer it 'cause of the eye candy, I personally recommend Xfce because it just feels snappier and more responsive than the pimped out Gnome & KDE but at the same time it isn't as bare as lxde or something even more extreme

That's pretty much the only downside, though medibuntu and ubuntu studio do have some quality programs. Otherwise just use wine

    Should I install it?
if you want, its up to you.

When I install it, does it overwrite my whole hard disk or does it keep my current files?
it doesnt wipe your HDD, and you can even try it before u install.

    Is it faster than Windows?
it doesnt use that much memory so yeah.

I have wireless connection, so do I lose that option when installing Ubuntu?
i used my internet on it when i was done installing, so im pretty sure.

What browser is given in Ubuntu?
    Firefox

Is there an Ubuntu market from where I download applications?
yeah. you can use the Software centre tool to look for apps you want.

    Ubuntu is faster than Windows.
from Start-up to Shutdown. apps and programs open way faster. some of my games ran faster on it rather than windows xp.
if you used it, you would know.

Ubuntu is like a pretty Mac version of Windows XP.
