I find an error in your "trick." You specifically said the rooster laid the egg. So hence forth the rooster had already laid the egg even though it may not be possible for roosters to lay eggs. Which would make the answer, which ever way it is tilted more towards. lol sorry I'm bored...

And the second one is too easy... You don't bury people that survived the crash
