tho i would recommend just getting a new ram (this is not so expensive), or video card.

Its easier and you don't mess up with the default settings, because windows set them for a reason they might be just bad, but we don't want to fry our ram do we?

Getting more ram is actually the initial idea, originally because Virtual Ram is slower then actual ram. Still helps APB Reloaded anyways.

This game would run fine with 2 gigs of ram- LAg on here is caused by processors, gcards and distance from server.

This game requires a quad core (or equivaliant) processor just to get out of the 20-30 fps range, Anything less then a quad core will bottle neck your gcard, If your gcard sux and you have a good processor your still stuck at 20-30 fps. then fps wont matter if your ping is 100 plus..

Also people might not have correct bios to update ram telling them to go buy a stick and plug it in doesnt alway work the bios alarm will sound and reject the ram if its not set up to take it (regardless if its right modle serial ect..)

To run this game corectly

4-8 core 3.0+ ghz processor

(this prevents bottle necking the graphics card this game likes to run with super multisampling on for smooth play Dual cores and single cores will bottle neck resulting in 10-20 fps delayed steering ect. this can be tweeked to get yellow fps of 20-30 i have a dual core on backup pc)

4-8 gigs of ram (with cooling jackets)

Nvidia 500+ series(or equivialent)

(anything less will bottle neck the frame rate..)

I have a:

6 core 3.2 ghz

nividia 430 graphics (makes my fps bounce 46-62 because I need to upgrade to 560 )

8 gigs ram with 8 gig upgrade space

Wow. This guide and a few things i did completely fixed my stuttering. I had perfect FPS most of the time but i would stutter to hell and back almost making it unplayable. Now its smooth as ever

Your not allowed to edit any file in the program files directory unless your running process trying to edit those files as admin. It's an extremely good policy from microsoft

Run notepad as an admin, then go find the file.

Also, wouldn't setting the file to read only fix the problem with it being overwritten?

Why the hell is your score on this so low? You run the new i7-2600k which comes equip with sandy bridge, 8GB ram, and a GTX 590. All besides your shit harddrive where did you go wrong?

Na, it's not that. Look at the green bar. His score is similar to that of my workstation I use when at a relatives. It's like a stock dell processor and everything except a Nvidia 8800 GTS.

That's pretty crazy... I still don't understand that.
