Verizon iphone 4

So heres the story my sister has an iphone 4 and she has insurance on it and i was wondering if we could report the phone lost and she gets a new one and the old one i can activate it for myself.

But if we go to verizon they'll know its stolen so is there any way to activate it ?

It would work better if you had tmobile or att, because verizon is CDMA so when you activate they're going to know for sure that the phone you're trying to activate is the one that you reported stolen.

Well my uncle is on sprint or verizon not sure. But he had the Htc EVO? He lost it, paid them 100 dollars. Got a new phone. THEN he ended up finding it at work a few days later. Sold the phone to my other uncle for 100 dollars, and they activated it and everything. so maybe if you report it lost instead of stolen, you might have a better chance

If it's reported stolen it wont work because it gets put in the system when trying to activate it locks it out my friends 600$ brand new droid got stolen and he reported it and then the kid who stole it sold it and the guy tried to activate it and it locked out.
