So I need to go to work tomorrow morning but over the last week I've had a tensed muscle in my neck/shoulder and it's really fucking me over when it comes to heavy lifting or moving fast

there are some kind of creams, for those cases. And also do not attempt to move for today. I had the same prob. with my arm (too much breaking) and took me 2 days to get OK.
Just stretch and get a pillow that can support your neck.

I've put cream on it for a whole day thought it was going to be better but the pain came back the next day, I've been laying down on pillows which support my neck and nothing I've been stretching it for 10 min ever hour or so.. the damn pain just wont go away
Cut ur arm and neck.
Relax and stretch them out
or get a massage.
