one thing you can try is color coding the all the different parts in the DTX. and then take a screen shot in game and then use that for reference.

I would agree with you... But not on this mod.
This mod is simple copy paste over the whole gun. And second, it doesn't even look nice

Don't worry man. I started out worse. I just threw on a some blue and put on a random picture.
You'll have your moment sooner or later.

You pretty much know how to mod. You just need to experiment and play around in photoshop for a little bit. Maybe go download some nice brushes for what ever version of photoshop you have.
