Really would Appreciate Some help,

I got a job :0 its Graphics design, But Im still learning it, (adobe illustrator and photoShop)

and i need some ideas, I have a image here and i'm working on a Mouse pad (not really just for the practice)
and I have A little design, And thats all, here it is;

i need someone to Um, Like Make it into a Image That simliars the shape of a Mouse pad but also With the Same colors/Logo On this. If anyone could help i would help, that would be very helpful.
Also This might be a very dumb question But um, were is the Select tool? Like For example i slect The left side that says "chameleon" and I copy it, And paste it.. where can i find that?

the select tool is the first tool but what you want is the marquee tool which would be the second one

the design i included, Can you make it into a Mouse pad design. Just a Normal rectangle With rounded Edges, and The The color needs to be the same, And the words are like in the bottom right corner and BIGGER.
