I've never actually done it, but I've helped some friends do it. Raised around $500

Basically you just go without something for 40 Hours. You get people to sign a sheet in support, and they donate an amount of money which then gets donated to charity upon completion of the famine.

I'm doing a famine for some school shit.
It's only for 24 hours though.
We don't get paid, but it goes towards our community service hours we need to finish highschool.
For 24 hours we're getting 40 complete hours.
