Downgrade to XP or Upgrade to 7

So I've got a laptop running Vista (and who doesn't love Vista?), and a desktop currently with no OS.

Being that the CA hack section doesn't get along with Vista (for me at least), I'm wondering if I should downgrade it (the laptop) to XP, or if it'd be better to just switch to 7.

As far as the desktop goes I'm more towards putting 7 on it, but again not sure if it plays nice with stuff >.>

At the moment I forget the exact system specs of the laptop and what I put in the desktop, but they can both handle windows 7 if installed.

If you don't, XP.

if your going for speed when doing something on your com then downgrade xp. I HIGHLY recommend doing this if your a gamer.
