What is art?

What is art to you guys
i mean like art in general
is it a painting is is anything conveying some artistic message is it just anything that resembles the general accepted concept of art
does it have to be good or can it be bad is there really can bad and good actually exist or is it all opinion based

Anything that has an idea and a message behind the hard work the artist gave into it.
There's no such thing as good or bad, it's if you like it or not. There's not a special formula you have to follow to make successful art.

Art to me is a get away from life

When im doing my designs, its like im in a whole other world with no worries or responsibilities no problems.. its just me and my imagination running free.

Obviously its all opinion based and art is different to each and every person.
To whom does art have to have a message; like if you see abstract art you need to find a message like "the inner feeling of distrust and hate the artist has deep inside secluding him from his ideas", or just some pretty shapes that looks cool that don't have a meaning to them.
Which way do you guys see it?

They're made based on his/her present feelings. The colors he/she chose in making the art, or the way the shapes are formed expresses what they are feeling; if they are sad and make something happy, they're trying to get rid of their sadness to become happy again. Such is the way things go, or at least what I think.

Art is freedom of will no one that consive you otherwise, relaxation of the mind during work doing doodles for example, a huge time kill whilst beeing fun.

it can be seen in manny ways... most of wich now already descibed.
