I wish to know the reasoning behind his banment, as I, along with others, worked all night on an APB hack, that was completely original.

As an argument against saying he posted a direct link, technically he did not. A direct link would have instantly downloaded the file upon user click. It was on an outside host source, and he didn't know that wasn't allowed at the point in time in which he was banned.

He posted an attachment as well, which was an exact copy of the "Hosted File".

If the only reason he was banned was due to the link, is there anyway to unban him?

As for the virus scans not being present, I don't know anything about that.

IMHO, I would see this as an infraction, rather than a ban, as you swiftly deleted the topic anyway.

Lastly, yes I do know the rules for posting files and downloadables, so I do understand the line of "trying to bypass the rules and post is a direct link will result in a quick ban", though he did not intentionally try to bypass the rules, and technically it was not a direct link.

ANY kind out outside download link will get you banned. And claiming ignorance isn't a 'get out of jail free' card.

The Microsoft Website, I think is fine too. Youtube, yes. Google as long as it doesn't contain anything offensive/racist on the page. No link to other downloads/hacks/rival hack sites. Those get you banned.
