HOW TO MAKE MODS FOR DN!!

I will only be teaching how to mod your armor clothing looks because modding others take too long :P BTW BEFORE ANYONE ASKS, NOBODY CAN SEE YOUR MOD EXCEPT YOU!!

    1. Download this zip file from Pie (not his, made by someone from another site) https://www.mpgh.net/forum/487-dragon...-dn-tools.html

    2. I only use DN Model Browser, and the DNPacker because the rest, i got no clue how to use or got a better way to use it. So extract the DN model browser and DN Packer to someplace you can access easily because you'll probablly be re visiting these folders alot.

    3. Go into your DN folder and there should be 4 Resource files.
    "Resource00.pak"
    "Resource01.pak"
    "Resource02.pak"
    "Resource03.pak"

Copy all these files to somewhere safe because your mods might corrupt these files if you patch with mods in the same folder.

4.Start the DN Model Browser application, click the folder icon or press ctrl+O to open the .pak files. Browse to your DN folder or the folder with the resource.pak file copies and press open. It will take a while to load all the files.

    5. To look at the armor items, go open the resource folder, then open the folder named "char", THEN open the folder named "player" and click the class you want to preview. Say i click the archer folder, there will be another folder in there named "parts" open this folder to see all the pretty cash shop stuff. You can only preview the files that end with ".skn" with the DN Model Browser. Browse around till you find a good set of items you like.

    6. When you find all the .skn items you like go right click the file's .skn file and click extract to. Extract them to the resource folder inside the DNPacker folder.

    7. Rename each file to what armor your character is wearing.

IMPORTANT: EXAMPLE: If my archer is wearing a epic body armor, to mod the body armor rename the file to "ar_epic01_body"

All archer items start with "ar"
All warrior items start with "wa"
All sorceress items start with "so"
All Cleric items start with "cl"

If you're wearing a rare instead of epic replace the "epic" with "rare" same thing with the magic armor. But if you're wearing normal items for some weird reason, replace it with "basic".

Main Body armor is ended with "body"
The shoe item is ended with "boots"
The pants are ended with "leg"
The gloves end with just "glove"

I think this should tell you how to rename the armor items easily....

    8. After renaming these files correctly put them into the resource folder in the same folder as the DNPacker app, if not already in there.

    9. Double click the DN Packer application with the DN icon. A pop up will come up with weird symbols. Ignore them. Just click the button on the left and another pop up will come up, press the only button there. A .pak file should now be in the DN Packer folder. That is your mod file. IMPORTANT : rename that .pak file because it will be named something weird, just rename it to anything that can help you remember which mod it is.

    10. Put the .pak file into your DN folder and just start your game. It should load the modded looks automatically. It may take a little longer to start the game.

If you still don't understand something I will probably respond. but if too many questions repeat itself I'll stop answering

BTW I know there are many other guides like this, but those took me a while to understand so hopefully this helps. If it does help, THANK ME >:O

So, I feel like giving a little more help

Basics on how to edit skill effects:

    1. Most or all skill effects pictures will be a .dds file, so to open AND edit these, i use GIMP2.0 and a .dds plugin. Download for GIMP will be at their official site, just click the language that you want to download it in, and it should send you to another link that will start your download automatically in a few seconds GIMP - Downloads I will post a download link for the .dds plugin below.

To use the .dds plugin, go into where ever you downloaded GIMP into, open the folder.Open "lib"->open"gimp"->open"2.0"->open "plug-ins" then there should be a lot of files that are applications, just copy or cut the .dds application from the zip file into there. Then ta-dah~ Gimp should now be able to open and edit .dds files.

    2. Since this is only the basics I will tell you the easy way to making your own skill mod, There are alot of skill mods out there already. So just download which ever class skill mod you want. Put it in a folder with nothing else in it and use quickbms or DragonNest Model Browser to extract all the .dds files in the already modded skill effects file.

    3. Open them and try to find out which picture is for which effect. DONT EVER CHANGE THE NAME OF THE .DDS PICTURE!!! Sometimes there will be layers of the same picture about 9 times just getting smaller each time. I don't know if this is needed but I do it anyways, they're all the same pictures but just half the size of the one before. So if the first layer was 200x200 pixels the layer after that will have the same picture but the size will be 100x100, then the layer after that will be 50x50. and so on. But remember the smallest they will go is 4x4, so don't go smaller than that. I don't know if anything bad will happen if you make it smaller though, but i never did it.

    4. So after you finish editing the pictures, save it to a different folder, press "Save as" not just "Save" because it will remove all the other layers. When you do save as, it will have 2 pop ups, one saying some DDS image message, i don't read that, just press ok on that one. But the other pop up will have some options and stuff to save it as. If the "Generate mipmaps" button isn't checked, CHECK IT. So that when you re-open it if you want to edit it again, it will load all the other layers. If you don't check it, and you try re-opening it, it'll only show the first layer.

    5. After everything's saved and done, put all the modded skill effect pictures into the resource folder from my first post and pak it up the same way i said in my first post.

As always, a little thanks doesn't hurt
