Remember that they still have to follow the "USA Privacy Law" And they can not get your personal data this is called Phishing, also it sates that if it becomes an embarrassment that also breaks the privacy law. The most they could do is search your computer for processes, hooks, and other things besides certain information.
Besides if it did collect certain data for search through your computer with out Admin rights it wouldn't happen, also if it did collect certain data i'm sure your anti-spyware or anti-virus would have shown it as an virus.
Also another rule that would break the law they can not sell certain information to third parties.

For they lazy guys, that means with installing origin you agree that they can see what you download, all your programms(hacks), illegal stuff, all your porn and if u link your facebook they can even get personal data about you.

be warned. hide ur kids hide ur wife.

"By installing Origin you're giving EA the right to monitor your PC and to make a profile of you, including what programs you have installed (and whether you have any illegally downloaded material), what websites you use, etc., and that EA reserves the right to share or sell this information to third parties."

Please read that again. You are very clearly mistaken they will collect "gender, zip code, information about your computer, hardware, software, platform, game system, media, mobile device, including device IDs, incident data, Internet Protocol (IP) address, network Media Access Control (MAC) address and connection."

They also collect "username, user ID or persona, feature usage, game play statistics, scores and achievements, user rankings and click paths as well as other data that you may provide in ******s."

No where in that paraphrase does it state that they will collect information about programs on your computer. Please try to find supporting evidence next time.

    @misshoneybee
the part where it says "software", if they mean origin only as software then they would not write software.

Internet Protocol (IP) address, network Media Access Control (MAC) address and connection means they sniff your data If they would only collect your IP they would not write connection

Please see also: https://www.gamefron*****m/origin-will...-cant-stop-it/ there is a lot about this on google

Gosh person you are so stupid!!!!
People try to hack EA every day.
Remember EA is not Sony they are not as stupid as Sony, they never will be.
Like i said in my last post they can not collect certain data this is called Phishing which is an crime in The United States.
Origin can not collect certain data and other private stuff besides find processes and game hooks. Is a rumor and a myth.

They can collect whatever they want, with their TOS.
They can collect ANYTHING, and sell it, so why wouldnt they?
Youre saying they wont make money off us, because they are polite?
It isnt phishing if they make you check the TOS box

Wrong. When you agree to the terms of service upon installation of Origin you surrender those privacy rights. The TOS dictates what they can collect. In a court of law in the U.S., you'll lose every time if you try to fight that with privacy laws because you agreed to a TOS that explicitly allows what you're fighting against.

You're actually correct there, though, congratulations:

EA will never share your personal information with third parties without your consent. We may, however, share anonymous, non-personal, aggregated and/or public information with third parties.

    Um....
When you use EA online and mobile products and services or you play our games on your PC or game system, we may collect certain non-personal demographic information including gender, zip code, information about your computer, hardware, software, platform, game system, media, mobile device, including device IDs, incident data, Internet Protocol (IP) address, network Media Access Control (MAC) address and connection. We also collect other non-personal information such as username, user ID or persona, feature usage, game play statistics, scores and achievements, user rankings and click paths as well as other data that you may provide in ******s, via your account preferences and online profiles such as friends lists or purchases, for instance. We may also receive either non-personal or public information from third parties in connection with market and demographic studies and/or data that we use to supplement personal information provided directly by you.
So where's the part where they don't collect information about your computer?

Did none of you read my post based on what @misshoneybee posted in the first post this whole thread is wrong. misshoneybee you are misinterpreting that entire paragraph IP means IP. Software means your drivers. MAC address means your MAC address. If you encrypt your packets when pirating then you have nothing to fear. You guys probably freaked out Y2K also.

Go ahead and quote from the TOS where it specifies that.

This is absolutely ridiculous you paranoid children.

    A. What Types of Non-Personal Information Does EA Collect?

When you use EA online and mobile products and services or you play our games on your PC or game system, we may collect certain non-personal demographic information including gender, zip code,
And why is it a problem if they know what gender you are? They can easily find your zip code from your IP address, it's called a reverse lookup.

information about your computer, hardware, software, platform, game system, media,
A shit ton of programs do this already. They get information about your computer for STATISTICAL DATA and to accommodate the majority. Obvious is obvious.

mobile device, including device IDs, incident data, Internet Protocol (IP) address, network Media Access Control (MAC) address and connection.
So they can find out if you use Android or Apple. Oh no they can get your device ID, IP, and your MAC address too?!?!?!? Who the hell cares. It's so easy to find all of those things, and it doesn't really matter if EA takes that information. It's most likely for statiscs against WHO'S BEEN BANNED.

We also collect other non-personal information such as username, user ID or persona, feature usage, game play statistics, scores and achievements, user rankings and click paths as well as other data that you may provide in ******s, via your account preferences and online profiles such as friends lists or purchases, for instance.
So they have your username and user ID that YOU SIGN UP WITH EA TO HAVE. THEY ALREADY HAVE THIS INFORMATION. So stop being so paranoid, they have all of this information already, the same company YOU GAVE THIS INFO TO is the same company that made THIS SOFTWARE.

We may also receive either non-personal or public information from third parties in connection with market and demographic studies and/or data that we use to supplement personal information provided directly by you.
And this little section is saying "if you take a study or a ****** from us or one of our sponsors, we may study that data". YOU GAVE THEM THE INFORMATION.

Where does it say that? They tell you EXACTLY what information they will take, but NEVER does it say it will access an outside source that is not cordially working with EA. Learn to read.

@Dave84311 I can guarantee that it's nothing more than statistical data. If it was anything more, it would have been leaked all over the internet already. This thread is pointless, a conspiracy thread basically.

That's not phishing. Phishing is when someone sets up a site or something that looks official and the person they are phishing is lured into the facade, giving away their personal details. You're thinking of just a regular any day Virus.

You're being way too paranoid. You don't "sniff" data. A packet sniffer may be used on a client side connection to gather information about incoming data. That's it. Get your terminology straight. And I can guarantee the software it "looks" for is just system software and such. Even if it did look for hacks, who cares, it's not doing anything illegal nor is it using any data for malicious intent.

You do realize you're on a hacking site right? Also, if EA was SOOOO easy to be hacked, it would have been done already, large sites like that get a lot of attention from hackers. On top of which, EA's website and server are separate, they have data integration and communication but it's not all right there in black and white. You would have to be the biggest dumbass of a programmer to allow that with a multi-million dollar corporation that deals with COMPUTERS all of the time.

Stop being so paranoid, people said the EXACT same shit with STEAM, IMPULSE, and Black Ciph3r (the anti-hack guard Nexon made), yet as USUAL NOTHING WILL HAPPEN MALICIOUSLY. Why? Because A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION WOULDN'T RISK ITSELF ATTACKING ITS CUSTOMERS. Stop being so fucking stupid.
