if that's the case, then any acer would do.
A laptop. I'm not buying a gaymin laptop or anything, just a regular laptop good for word processing, calendar stuff, and keeping up with events/scheduling. There will be some gaming done on it, but not much. Its not for me, its for my girlfriend, and she needs a new one for her work + having. So I want a laptop with decent battery life, decent power (though nothing extravagant, she shares my steam account so she usually cant play the games she has anyways) and if possible, a decent size HDD, though nothing would prevent me from buying one after and putting it in. Looking for something in the $300-$500 range. She doesn't do much on it besides surfing the web, chatting with me and friends, watching movies, and keeping up with her work doc's.
Only reason I'm asking is because my specialty is desktops, not laptops. So can anyone help out?

Derp.
Acer for the win, i got a 6 year old acer running a single core 1.8ghz with 1gb ram that i use from time to time, no problems what-so-ever in the past 6 years with it.
So just find the best acer price/specs wise out there and buy et.
Maybe give some links to some?
lmao if you dont want one for gaming. Just go to the store and look for one. If you want a gaming. Build your own.
