I haven't used photoshop in a while, but I made this today.
What do you guys think?

i like your avatar better than the sig :P
you should make the background of the sig dark and the character stand out..
and yes, i dont know anything about graphics designing, but its my opinion

You need to work on you're blending and compo, and overall quality, there's far better quality HD renders out there,
read some tutorials bro.

I'll help you out with what you are doing wrong,
1) The color does not match with the render
2) The font doesn't match with the sig either
Overall it's pretty good.

Yea I kinda made this just to see if I still had it.
I'm glad someone posted some advice.
I'll take a look at some tutorials though.
