i think were confused on what the 3rd option implied
i thought it meant that we don't think that people sucked we thought the person who made the original conjecture (in this case stoney) sucked
i think you thought that it meant that the observer (us) of such a conjecture sucked and not the people(what this is about) it referred too.

People underestimate other people all of the time, even themselves. If I saw you on the street I might be like "What a fkn douche bag" becuase you probably dress like a fag (Just joking, I'm just creating a context here.) In reality though, you too are a human being with a complex 20+ years in your life and a unique and individual perspective on our world.
