Which is why i'm so bothered by the fact that atheist don't tend to themselves as they should. Its like making a thread on ANY number of stories and disproving it, so? Its not of any relevance.
How is Noah's Ark a moral story for kids? Why, because certain sects of Christianity made coloring books depicting those events? It's not like there were any real moral lessons being taught..
that was more or less Christs job anyway
The fact of the matter is that it's still the Bibles answer for why and how said species survived the flood.
Whether it's geared torwards kids or not is the irrelevant point here,
because adults obviously believe it too.
You can't just pick and choose what you believe in the Bible if you call yourself a real Christian..
Also, just because Atheists ask questions, doesn't mean they're always being assholes about it..
Sometimes they are confused about it too and seek answers to something they don't understand.
I see nothing very combative in the ops nature..even if I still believed I wouldn't be offended by this thread.

:/ people believe anything. They believe blindly in one thing or another, no matter how much they would disagree. The truth on the matter is really only gauged on relevance. You can, at any time, disprove some story or belief someone has. There is no relevance in saying noah's arc is false though, not any more than any other bible story. Might as well say soddam and gomorrah are false too. Its not like anyone will give a shit.

Thats my point as the end, so ________ belief isn't possible to you then. So?

Tired of kids making atheist threads like "well i durrr, don't believe in god. how was i so blind? durr".

This specific flood story is ancient as hell, it's in the Epic of Atrahasis from at least 4000 years ago. It got written long before Christ, long before even the Jews.

:/ at least 4000 years ago, in all fairness, is about the time the jews wrote it according to the bible.

Not saying its true, but if it was, its around the same timeline.

K, so you're basically saying this section is pointless.
That's why it's here, to debate religion.

Yes, I think you're misreading this slightly. It IS about the Illuminati (conspiracy theory sense), and the "selling their soul" is more metaphorical than real.
What they fail to mention (conveniently) when claiming that it causes depression (in the Eminem video) etc. is that we know that people are prone to depression if:
    1) they are highly artistic
    2) they have demands on them from all directions
    3) they are under pressure from many directions
    etc.
In other words they're looking at something that probably arises from himself and blaming it on a fictional, external organisation.

The Michael Jackson video: once again we're back to claims of a nearly omnipotent organisation that can kill off public figures like Jackson with virtual impunity (and Princess Diana too? I didn't watch the entire thing, it made me laugh too much) yet, surprise, some nameless nerd on the internet manages to expose them weekly.

Ask yourself one question: if you were in charge of a world-spanning secret society that controlled pop stars, trillions of dollars, national economies, stopped and started wars at whim, "disposed of" inconvenient people in the public eye etc. what would you do to to some nameless geek who tries to expose you on YouTube?

Me? I'd make sure he disappeared, and his files... It's easier than you think. But no... oopsy! Oh noes we've been outed again.

Noah's Ark isn't meant to be "just a story". It's one of many Chronological events that supposedly took place. If you take Noah's Ark as just a tale told to little kids, then you might as well take every story in the Bible that way. A Christian wouldn't be taking their faith that seriously is if this was their mentality.
Personally that's how I take the Bible. A bunch of stories meant to teach people good morals. Other than that it's pretty fucking hard to believe some of the shit that happened in it actually happened. There have been residue from opium poppies on the dead sea scrolls as well, indicating that the writers of the scrolls were definitely hopped up on pop. I don't really believe it was ever actually "meant" to be taken chronologically in a history standpoint, but people just took it that way because they're fanatics.
