Like you said, it's old and it's blind on both eyes.
The question is, is it suffering from it's age? If so, I'd put it down, for it's own best.

If it's just old, no suffer except the eyes, I wouldn't do it. It doesn't need see to be happy, a dog needs walks, attention and care.
You should be able to go walks with it, makes it find the way using the leash, best fit for that is parks without any other dogs/vehicles that makes it feel threaten, but I guess it's up to you / your family.
