Friend cannot reach server and we are using hamachi.

Hi, my friend and i are trying to play on our own bukkit server using hamachi. We both have premium accounts and we are not using a cracked game. I set up the server and i can connect to it fine, but when my friend tries to connect it says "cant reach server." I need help in figuring out how to fix this. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to assist!

Did your friends join your Hamachi Server?

Make sure you edit your server.properties file so the server ip is the IP shown on hamachi.
Also make sure your friends are connected to the hamachi server and (obviously) that they are using the ip that the hoster is given on their hamachi window

I tried what both of you suggested and he still could not reach the server i dont know what im doing wrong =/

What should he do when i give it to him? enter it as the server ip? sorry im new to this stuff

Where it says 5.200.134.196, thats what you put as ur ip in the server.properties .
Make sure your friends are using that as well. If that's what your doing, then I don't know what I can do for you

that is what we were doing putting that set of numbers for my hamachi into server.properties and when he entered that as the server ip he still cant reach the server =/ hamachi does not require ports to be open correct?

hamachi doesn't requires ports to be opened


Be sure that he connected to your hamachi network with the username and the password you used to create your network !

yep, we were in my hamachi at the time we were trying to do all of this and he still cant reach server

Check if the IP is right and that it has been put in the servers properties file.
