You will only get banned in MW3. VAC bans engin-wise, meaning that every game running the same engine will get banned.
So to answer your question; Yes, you can hack on MW3 and still play other games if you happen to get banned.

hey i was just wondering if i can get like banned on steam i play a lot of steam games and i ony hack on mw3 if i get banned on mw3 can i still play all my other games?

That didnt happed to me! I used hacks on Black Ops and Team fortress 2 and Cod4 online didnt work, only campaing and zombies
