Starting games in windowed mode

I recently got a portable version of Age of Empires II Of my friend and I want to play it in windowed version, I can't find any options for it
Could I make a .bat that will make it run in windowed mode?

Not sure. You could look up a program called "DxWnd" -- that works for some games. @Love

Alright. Took me quite a bit of research, but I finally got a lead in a comment of a Youtube video. Google search "Aoc Vegmod", it's the first result.

No, according to at least two dozen threads I saw while researching this, that hasn't worked for anyone.

It's worked for me with the same game Then again I connected the game with steam and put the command in that shortcut, it should still work.

Not all games can be windowed right?
Also, you might find it under 'Options' for some games, else I'd just press the shortcut keys while launching it.

Try searching "generic DirectX windowed mode launcher" and look at Diablo based websites. They have multiple launchers for Windowed mode and I read on another forum that one of them works.
