Actually, if he buys it to the maximum overclock setting (expensive a bit) and overclocked a few system key areas, he could compete very well with the card. My card is overclocked to the highest possible max setting and compare to his card is even out. While I have a 32 bit and thus limited to the 4GB, my PC is much more stable and will last much much longer than one with more. While his card is ahead in a few areas, so is mine, the problem with both cards that they are very close in standards.

Your chart is most likely using standard stuff, like I said before. If you overclocked it and many system areas you can play fine. And I know that because my card goes much higher than that. I understand your point, but know that an overclocked card can compete well with that card.

I hope you realize the 7970 is a 3GB single GPU card, on a 28nm fabrication. It IS the fastest single GPU card in the world currently. Hell, it almost holds the title of THE fastest GPU in the world, but it's only slightly surpassed by the 6990/590GTX. A crossfired 7970 would wreck any flagship GPU from either side. You can get a hydro-copper 580GTX with 3072MB of GDDR5 RAM and Overclock it as much as you want - Newegg.com - EVGA 03G-P3-1591-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Hydro Copper 2 3072MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - (The card mods, don't QQ.). The 7970 wins. Not only is it like $120 less, it gives better performance. It's using drivers that aren't even up to speed with it. So we're saying a minimum of 10% loss in performance in the chart's rage posted. The GTX 580/570 have been out for how long...? There have been multiple driver updates for them, the 7970 has had... 1?
