I SAW THE WINDOWS VISTA SP 1 WAS OUT FOR DOWNLOAD, SO I WAS LIKE WHY NOT. WHEN IT FINISHED, THE COMP STARTED GETTING ALL LAGGY, SO I THOUGHT WELL YEAH IT'S CAUSE OF THE UPDATE. THEN SUDDENLY MY TASKBAR DISAPPEARS, AND MY COMPUTER FREEZES, LIKE WTF.
I MANUALLY RESTART MY COMPUTER, AND THE UPDATES ARE LOADING, AND IT TOOK ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES. THEN THE COMPUTER RESTARTED AGAIN AND IT WAS LOADING, AND THE SCREEN TURNED BLACK WITH IT SAYING WINDOWS FAILED TO START, AND SOME SHIT, AND THEN SOMETHING LIKE "MOST LIKELY BECAUSE OF A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE.
FURTHER MORE, IT SAYS TO PUT THE VISTA INSTALLATION DISC IN AND START COMPUTER AGIAN, AND CLICK REPAIR COMPUTER.

BUT I DON'T HAVE A GODAM DISC.


SO I GO TO THE MICROSOFT SUPPORT SITE, AND IT SAYS IT COSTS 60 FREAKING DOLLARS TO SEND A SUPPORT E-MAIL, PHONE, OR 1 ON 1 CHAT.

THEY TEMPORARILY RUINED MY COMPUTER AND THEY'RE CHARGING ME FOR IT.

WHAT THE HELL.

AND I'M NOT GOING TO FREAKING PAY, SO I HAVE TO WAIT 2 WEEKS FOR MY DAD TO COME HOME.

You should never download anything on the computer without fully knowing what it does. I had to learn the hard way. lol its kinda funny to that your title is the genious just a little humor. But ya im sorry this happened to you good luck.

I don't see how it contradicts me being a genious in any way. I didn't know it would do that, I mean, it's a freaking Microsoft update. I always trusted Microsoft up to now.

And my mom knows a guy who's a computer technician, and my mom's taking my comp (lol) to him now. If he manages to fix this, well excuse my outburst. D:
