No you said "I dunno why you idiot Americans think Islam is violent". You weren't talking about "sects". You were talking about Islam in general. I countered that argument by saying you can't generalize ALL Muslims. Some Muslims are secular while others are radical. So I bring up Pakistan and Turkey. I also explain why some Muslims are driven to violence and a solution to fixing radicalized Islam.

Also, I bring up satanism because Atheists TEND TO (notice I did not say all) focus only on major religions, especially Christianity. How do Atheists know that there is no God. Why can't God be a "sadistic maniac"? That's one of the main arguments of Atheism against religion. Why does any religion such as Hinduism have to be correct? Just because God cannot be explained or shown does not mean there is no God. nevs666 was correct in that Atheists don't believe in a deity at all.

Lots of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Shintoists, etc.. fought. They did not fight for religion. Some soldiers did, but the main reason for fighting was for land and resources. Your argument was that Islam is not peaceful. Why? Because they killed people? What if I showed you pictures of Israelis killing Arabs? Christians killing Muslims? Are Christianity and Judaism violent? No. Because they managed to adapt their religions to fit the modern world. I showed you Muslim states such as Turkey and Pakistan that were able to incorporate secular Islam to fit the modern world.

I never denied talking about Islam in general..nor did I deny talking about sects.
Islamic sects are not simply "denominations," if that word is understood to mean various valid approaches to the same religion. Members of one Islamic group do not usually recognize members of other groups as fellow Muslims, and open conflict between sects is not uncommon.

example: Ibadi Muslims‎,Kharijites‎, Quranist Muslims‎ , Shi'a Muslims‎, Sufis‎, Sunni Muslims‎

So basically you're telling me because I didn't state something about them in the OP,
that I'm not allowed to discuss them later on in an argument when it's presented to me?
That seems pretty ridiculous.

Now, just because there are different sects or groups of Muslims doesn't mean that the Qur'ran itself is completely different.
It means that they practice in a different way. So I am again talking about Islam as a whole too.
Do you get it now? Do you see how I can discuss both sects and Islam as whole and not be contradicting myself like you say?
