    GTX 580 underperforming

My GTX 580 started under performing after I put it my Corsair AX 750.
I get very, very low FPS.
Under 40fps in max graphics in Assassin's creed.
Frequent low fps spikes in BC2, max 80 for a few seconds.
Used to get like at least 100 a lot.
Pretty much everything that requires some resource out of my GTX 580 is like that.
I'm gonna try replacing the pcie power cables.

Suggestions on what to do and do you know why it happened?

I assume you do have the latest drivers and all that already?
What are the rest of your PC specs, and you have you run a Benchmark yet?

even though you have a higher wattage psu than before, the ampres coming off the 12v rails may be less than before, meaning your card is getting less juice.

    This ^

If you can, check the specs of your rails and/or measure the power going through them. I'm assuming you ruled out most software effects and/or changes in other hardware? A good thing to double-check would be your GPU profile / clocks when in game, I've heard that certain driver profiles prevent cards from going into full 3D performance mode for some games (though I dunno why one would make such a profile for AC...).

    I have 62A on my 12v rail.

Well that amounts to well over 700W of power, are you sure no other rails or anything are affecting it? Is there any chance you can actually check the amperage?

    I don't have an ammeter.
I don't really know what you mean by other rails.
And I don't think so either.

Whilst the rail itself might have up to 740-ish watts of power available, it doesn't mean that it can draw that much if other rails draw too much. I would double check that no component is draining too much power

I changed the PCIe power cable and my graphics card seems fine now.
Maybe a fps spike but it goes up to where it should be.
