Got to episode 13 two days ago, it's quite interesting. For sure one of the most unique Anime I've watched in a while.


I started it and got extremely annoyed with Kamina (even though I feel like I should have liked him and would on another occasion) so I gave it up after episode 4 (I think). Picked it up again this week and ever since Kamina died, I've been rather engaged in it. I was extremely surprised to see a main character die like that in a Shounen, by doing that it was able to hold my attention and entice me to keep watching; a brilliant move by whoever wrote the story. It's nice to see Simon actually progressing as a character instead of sitting in Kamina's shadow.


The fights are rather entertaining as well, albeit with all the usual Shounen aspects. (powerups, steadily increasing power, coming from behind, etc...)

i SADLY have to admit that i liked simon after kamina died. Before he was just......annoying. That being said, simon spends about 90% of the show after that either chasing his psycho girlfriend or trying to be half the man kamina was. The battles are always nice, but thats gainax in a nutshell, i don't think i've watched a single gainax anime where I was dissapointed action wise.

Great anime, probably one of if not the best anime all around. Second season really wasn't needed but still enjoyed all the same. Personally i dislike space battles unless they are quick and the whole second season was in space and it got a bit annoying.

Gotta remember, this is a show generally designed for kids/teens.

They can't show sex or hint at it unless its hentai in japan anyway though. Even all the harem/romance animes, only 1-2 have any showing of the couple having had sex.

At least he kissed someone. Can't tell you how many shows these days are afraid of a kiss. Like it takes a some extreme circumstances in anime for a kiss nowadays. Like dear god you wouldn't believe it.

Oh... well it's true. Sometimes I just think myself, if is better keep re-watching old animes with absolutely sure they were or they are still good. Or keep checking new releases and be prepared for between something decent or a huge disappointment.

Needless to say,Kamina + Viral were complete badasses.
