Call of duty black ops skidrow help!!

I downloaded call of duty: black ops skidrow and it was missing the players folder, i tried to play it but it said i needed to have steam running, so i downloaded steam and now when ever i try to play it, steam comes up and nothing happens, do i need the player folder?

download an other crack
or create the folder yourself?
but the game should make the folder + save games out of itself

okay I AM very sorry for bumping but i can't stand helpless people

anyway you say you have the skidrow version installed? but do you have the crack? by crack i mean the 2 files that you put in the black ops folder so it overwrites the original 2 multiplayer and single player versions but to play online you need alter-ops(but if you get alterops and install that you can't play single player anymore which sucks but there is always combat training )
