The system i built recently i got a 990FXE when comparing it to an 870 the price diffrence was roughly 45 bucks and from what i could tell and all the suggestions given to me it was a worthy $45. I got a biostar 990FXE and my only complaint is there isnt enough fan ports on the motherboard, but thats not a big deal at all.

Alen, since you said that the AMD build isn't future proof (but i hope it'll last for a few years with only a few upgrades) - if i were to choose an intel cpu/mobo combo what would i pick? confused because there's like H61 HXX ect...

At the moment I would personally go with a Z77 build if you're looking at mid-range stuff

So a z77 board and what cpu? i've heard about the 2120 - but i guess the i5 2500k falls out of my price range [compared to the amd cpu/mobo]

and what's the advantage over the older gens e.g H67 Ect? is it just like the AM3 boards where its like got a faster/slower southbridge ect? [i don't even know what a southbridge does looool]
