bf3 is very good game but you need good pc to play it
or just use the ingame frame counter, wich by the way is activated using the console...ohh the puns
hit "^", type in "render.drawfps 1", hit enter
just check this thread, it did here
back to topic:
get a 7770 which is sub $150 at newegg, saw one at $134
PSU: get the bequiet! pure power 530, couldnt find it at newegg, but it should be around $60
8gigs of ram: $40
mainboard and processor: id recommend an i5, but they start at $190 which might be too much for you
if you still get one of those as mainboard id recommend the ASUS P8H61 rev 3, just plain p8h61, its a standart atx board, any letter behind that name make it either a micro atx or a mini itx board, you want neither. ohh right, its around $60
in fact, the bulldozer can handle bf3 and if you re looking for something cheap, get the fx-6100, its just $130
with a cheap $80 mainboard we are @ $450 for a computer that runs battlefield 3 on ultra. so hows that?
you already got a computer, use that hard drive and case! if its a notebook: get the cheapest and crapiest case out there, no one cares about a computer case
conclusion:
bulldozer 6100 - $130
mainboard - $60-$80
amd 7770 - $134
random 8gigs memory - $40
bequiet 530w - $60
+harddrive you got at home
= $444
a decent harddrive + case would make an additional ~$150, but instead of getting a case you could just screw your computer directly onto your desk...im just sayan
you cannot! get most of those parts at newegg, im from europe and that shop sucks. wait what?
ok then, let the flame begin.
edit1:
just did some research about the 7770, it propably wont run bf3 on 1080p ultra, im sorry i said that.
the 7850 would do but is at $250 which might be too much. so either its a 7770 and bf3 on normal/high OR bf3 on ultra and a sub 1080p resolution (something 1600*900), or if you re ready to pay $200 for a video card you could get something like a 560.
that would raise the overall price to something like $500.

Fx-8120 is subpar to the 2500k in nearly everyway its even speed w/ i5 @ best for more money ruins its chances, secondly i5 has NO Hyperthreading so no Virtual cores. Hyperthreading and over Quadcore is only really useful in heavily multithreaded applications games are not so multithreaded and most are optimized for quadcore making the sub $1500 build w/ an i5-2500k the absolute best choice, above that a good i7-3930x has larger cache etc.
This thread is damn funny.
If you can get some money toghether, i recommend these: i5 3550/i5 3450 , gtx 560(SE if you feel that from 10 fps differences are ok), a cheapass h61 motherboard( in my midrange desktop, i use the gigabyte ga-h61m-ds2, spent a lot of time on the benchmarks, and the gigabyte is the best choice if you dont know how to overclock) , a 500 gb sata, 2*4gb 1600mhz ddr3( idk where you live but here in hong kong they are about 50USD. Also, when i compare my comp with my friend's, we have the same cpu, but he uses the 7770. on lower settings at 800by 600 in low, he gets 120 fps. i get 100 fps on mine. but in full hd and high fx, i get about 45 stable, he gets 30. So, not so sure y? but yeh.
SO! total summary. A GTX 560, A I5 3550, a H61 motherboard, a cheapy chassis and the stock fan that the cpu comes with. a 500 gb hitachi, a cheapy 550 w powersupply= not that bad cheapy mid to low range gaming comp?
Or you could holdup a bank and build a i7 2960x with 4 ssds on raid 4 gtx 690's on sli, and you will need about a 1500 w psu. and stuff like that.
Edit: or you could play minecraft with a potato plugged in to a screen.
Edit2: oh yeah, forgot how expensive windows is. you could always just stick up a bank.

You would need to hold up a bank, Raid does not support trim for SSD's which drastically reduces the lifecycle of an SSD. Your also better off sticking w/ an i5-2500k unless you plan to quad 7970 or 680, i.e Dual 690/7990, otherwise you do not need pcie3.0 for anything not even normal SLI/CFX builds. The GTX 560 non TI is worthless and should be avoided @ $200 and under your looking @ 6870 or 6850 as the absolute dominating choice, in that is also the GTX 460 but it is has less power and quite a bit more power usage.
As a PC/Network specialist who has spent the last 4 years learning C/C#/C++/Java/Ruby/Python I can only encourage the purchase of good hardware. I will throw some links to sample builds here for price conscious forum goers.
$646 - Intel i3-2120, XFX Radeon HD 6870, Cooler Master HAF 912 - System Build - ************ Ill estimate 40-55 FPS in BF3 on high some ultra.
$1228 - https://************.com/p/9zwM You can expect some pretty insane performance from this one, enough ram to disable your paging file, an SSD 128Gb along w/ a 7850 which if your a computer nerd like myself you know that these cards are severely overclockable to the point of beating the GTX 580 which is still $400~.

Had to interject, I have an Intel build and a FX-8120 build @ 5.0Ghz custom liquid cooling, it doesnt even come CLOSE to the i7 in single threaded apps unless you disable 4 of the 8 cores, now the CPU isnt as expensive but it is completely worthless for gaming. Now if you were using autocad 3ds max etc etc hyperthreading is > Fx anyday of the week but only in a very miniscule amount, now in 4 threads and under the i5 and i7 will decimate any AMD cpu out atm, this isnt fanboyism but pure fact, now onto the GTX560, which is not the successor to the 460 but nominal upgrade from the 460 in power consumption and heat output, where as the GTX 560 TI and GTX 560 TI 448 are the upgraded 460's, and they both are pretty amazing. They do not in anyway compare to a 6950 but are =/= w/ 6870.
To be 100% clear intel is a nobrainer if you actually know about hardware, Nvidia vs AMD(ATI) is a crapshoot they both rock, AMD just gave us a cpu almost on par w/ the i5-2500(K) but @ a starting price $50 higher.
The 560 ti 448 is closer to a 570, the normal 560 does not compete w/ the 6870 or 6950 at all. You also forgetting that most benchs show AMD trailing until you blow the resolution up. @ 1920x1080p + the 560 normal is way below 6870+, where as the 560 ti is not up to par w/ the 6950 it is about as powerful as the 6870. Now the 448 and 570 are ~ with the 6950 the 6970 is midway between 570 and 580.
Regardless of that the 7850 is the absolute best performer per $ atm with the 670 trailing very close, as it is already damn near the 680 and it is severely overclockable.
TL;DR
Three 560's exist, 560, 560 ti, and the 560 ti 448. 560 is garbage, the 560 ti is your cheap last gen GPU for gaming it is good. Then we have the 560 ti 448 which is more close in performance to a 570 putting it on par w/ a 6950 2gb and just behind a 6970.

Uhh no the 6950 is > 560 TI, not by a huge margain, but @ $250~ market it squashes the 560 ti, the 448 is =/= with the 6950. Even if you were to bump the 6950 down in clock speed @ 1920x1080p+ the 6950 excels ahead because it has 1408 shaders, which is only 128 less shaders than the 6970.
Build your own PC is a way to go, from my experiences in Australia anyway, btw, case is very important for hardcore games like bf3, GL
Hit Thanks if I helped
BF3 is less demanding than bfbc2 in my opinion
