THe problem isn't capitalism it's crony capitalism. As long as the government gets involved with our market by pumping money into it and gives special deals to large corporations our economy will continue to be weakened. In a pure market the U.S. Government wouldnt do things like take over GM. "Secular Socialism" is what's going on in America right now, and that's the PROBLEM with socialism. Eventually you run out of other peoples money to spend.

    END THE FED

Nobody can deny that capitalism works and it would work smoothly if it weren't for greed. If we managed a way to put equal opportunity for everyone than we'd be going fine.

Capitalism is failing because it cannot monetize work. As a result, more and more people are unemployed. People who have education and skill are not able to support themselves. The only solution is to guarantee everybody a minimum wage — a basic standard of living. In the process capitalism is limiting mankind’s ability to work, create, and thrive as it chases the meaningless of money, profit, and greed. Capitalism is the problem and it has to be replaced with a more modern economic system.

Socialism has been maligned. Many Americans don’t understand the difference between totalitarianism and socialism. Americans frequently will defend capitalism even though capitalism is far closer to totalitarianism than socialism. Democracy can exist under a socialistic economic system; in fact, it could coexist far better than the greed based capitalism that results in non-democratic government control.

Capitalism privileges capital (money) and socialism privileges social (people). The basic problem in America is that society is controlled by capitalism (money) and people are dismissed. This is particularly ironic for a country’s whose Constitution declares, “We the People”. Capitalism has so perverted society that corporations were declared personhood by the US Supreme Court. This is so absurd that I have shit to say about it...

The only solution for America at this point in time is socialism where every citizen is guaranteed basic minimums for essentials, e.g. food, housing, health care, clothing, etc. This would require approximately $36,000 per year for a single adult person; somewhat more for married people. Providing such minimums would cost appropriately $5-8 TRILLION per year, or about half of the GDP of the US. Once the basic necessities of all people are satisfied, people could pursue whatever they wanted, including nothing at all. Many people would pursue interests that paid nothing additional — just because they want to do the work.

i like capitalism the anarcho-syndicalist way

the strong use the weak as cattle essentially

look at industrial revolution usa, china today

    fastest progress possible in society

problem is it won't work without frontier

    too much population pressure

with frontier if you don't like being used by corporations, then leave

if you think about it this isn't too far from today

people are still used by the rich and powerful

    but nothing gets done

socialism creates stagnation, look at europe, recent usa

You can't blame socialism for the current state of the U.S.
Considering that it was hardly implemented.
    We are still quite Capitalist.

You attributed the current problems to socialism though.
That isn't accurate. I'm not at all denying Obama is a socialist,
his mentors speak for itself, but the state that America was in before Obama to office was due to Capitalism..corrupt or not.
The thing with Socialism is that it can't be corrupted to the extent that Capitalism can be.
Sure, politicians can grease some pockets here and there, but that's really not going to effect a citizens income.

all while the little guy gets stomped on, and pays even higher taxes.

Is it? I'm not sure if this is correct (my Political Sciences teacher might as well be wrong), but I thought socialism encouraged the working class to be the one in power. Because supposedly, they are the ones who make the profit and move the country. Moreover, I thought communism tried to abolish any type of social classing and what else. Of course, I suppose these two ideologies have evolved throughout the years . But anyways, Marxism has never been and never will be implemented. It depends too much on the goodness of human beings.
