I'm too cheap to afford full water cooling.
I managed to get to 5.2Ghz stable with the 620.
But idle temps were 70 degrees so I was like fuck that.
So around 4.8Ghz, it went up to around 70~80 degrees on full load.
    I think that's pretty good.

70-80 on full load still sounds pretty high... But it's ok

What Brand of Thermal Paste did you use?
Did you apply a thin Coat?
    What case are you using?

I'm using Artic Silver 5 or something for thermal paste.
I used a bit and spread it around.

I'll be water cooling my build soon. What kind of temps are you running on with the Apogee? Have you noticed any gunk build up inside the block?

I'm trying to decide whether to get an Apogee HD block for CPU and AquaGraFX's for dual 680s and a MIPS cooler for Mushkin Copperheads, or to go with a full EK Plexi setup so the UV green can shine through.

Decisions, decisions. Although I probably won't watercool for a while. I decided I'll wait for Asus Z77s to come out with native USB3 and integrated WiFi. They look good plus it'll help for the clean look I'm going for.

I change the Coolant every 4-6 months to reduce the risk of gunk build up...

Most of my Extreme Gaming Family has the Apogee HD Waterblock with the i7-3960X
and it keeps the CPU at a very cool temp even @ full load...

    Both the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB WIFI & GA-Z77X-UD3H specs looks promising... Bundle it with a 22nm Core i7, GTX 680 & 8Gb 1600Mhz DDR3 Ram would be epic...

If only the heatsinks weren't so god damn ugly. I love the z68 UD boards but god damn z77 ones look like shit. And my tower will be right next to my monitor so I'll be looking inside a lot.

    That should look neat.

Yes it should... When the z77 boards gets 2 PCI-E 3.0 X16 Slots (Both runing @ x16) I'll think about upgrading in 2013...

If you don't mind spending money on the newer tech go for it... myself I would go with sandy bridge. If you know where to shop you can get a pretty good deal on a sandy bridge and it will have around the same power as the newer shit.
