what is the problem with this ? i havent played the game for about a year and i just installed it but it says theres no players online

Have you tried just joining a playlist anyway? Those numbers were fucked up on CoD4 on Xbox for 1½ year.

I heard that matching up with some people in a private match could fix it. Don't know if it is true.

the problem to solve it is to wait for like 4/5 mins, that what i did and its working, but its really strange

There is no fix... you wont find a game for a while and eventually, about 5-10 minutes it will give you a game. (Doesn't matter if you wait for 5-10 at the first screen when you start up the game or in searching for game) The "0 players online" doesn't go away. And you really won't find any games in anything but Team Deathmatch... I've waited in Domination for over an hour during a saturday at noon PST and I didn't get a game.

Have you tried changing some router settings. Is your NAT strict? If it is try Portforwarding, try portwarding anyway.

Opps :| Well try disabling your firewall some ports are blocked.

Also, try "Verify Integrity of game cache" as some files on steam are corrupt some times.

Well, this is a "known" problem.
That it takes long time to find a server. (And it might only be found a game in TDM.)
I also had this problem (Or do still I suppose...)
And I was told and found that the problem is: I have been using hacks. (MW2 Lib)
And therefore I have been "closed" out of the standard game servers.

If I remember right. This is also done in MW3...

Ive had this problem too, for two days (thats how long i lasted, got banned 2 days after i purchased MW2 ^^) Well, what u have to do is join a private match (preferably with someone else), play for like 10 secs, end the match, and then search for a game (number will still be 0 doh), then it goes faster ... Atleast for me :P
