IW's manual ban system - BanCandy

BanCandy is no longer active.

VAC is not the only thing we should be afraid of, this is easier to evade though and BanCandy is not especially active. 5-10 daily bans world-wide as far as i can see. They are getting more and more active though.

BanCandy is an employee from Infinity Ward (the developer of MW3) that is capable of banning people if she has evidence in form of a video. BanCandy is now IW's official manual banner. There has been other ways to report MW3 cheaters, but fourzerotwo has stated that all reports should go to BanCandy and her new workmate called Banstache.

BanCandy is not booster/cheater hunting themselves.

Anyone can record a killcam or take footage from theater mode, send it to them and you will probably get banned.

If you see someone called BanCandy join your game, you should stop hacking or leave. It does not really matter if it is them or not, because BanCandy bans are manual. It can be someone that is cheater/booster hunting and records footage of them.

If you have emblem/title/stat hacked to obviously hacked stats you can reset your stats and be lucky. They might ban for resetting stats too though. So if you wanna be sure don't edit your stats to unrealistic numbers.

This also counts on consoles. It is not possible to change GT/PSN though.

UPDATES: This is now what her twitter says: "Infinity Ward Security in MW3 against cheaters. My workmate Banstache will also take your reports!"

BanCandy bans are NOT VAC bans

I will not post any information about how to report because this is one of the biggest CoD hacking sites and we don't want our members banned.

BanCandy states that if they get a link to the players Steam profile and some footage it is enough.
They have also said that they are careful with banning on Steam, but I have found people getting banned on Steam by BanCandy. I'm pretty sure they prefer getting a Steam ID and some sure evidence by server owners.

well that doesnt make a whole lot of sense though...if they banned by ip then the manual bans would be easily circumventable

There's a reporting tool out there, which simply looks through all the *.demo files, gets the game name (S&D, Seatown blabla), lists ALL players AND their steamid's (and their current alias). You press report at the specific player, write a short message, and the .demo gets sent to BanCandy.

It's pretty easy, even if you change your name, to deduct who the hacker was, by excluding the names you can still find in the list.

Keep your heads up, no way around them seeing your steamid if they know what they're doing. BanCandy states that they have banned hundreds of players, it seems realistic tbh.

Also, what *****r said, BanCandy's female.

So, Nachos, maybe update that up there too, in some cases there might be no way at all around them banning your steamid from MW3.

And that would end up in a bad business.
I think they pefer that they might go and buy a new game, and then they can hack on that account and get banned again.
So they can earn money on it. And just keep the IP under-watch. So they can watch that user a bit more closer than they would usually do.

Note that the report tool does not actually send the .demo file itself. It only submits the SteamID and messsage to the author's website. I would assume that once a specific Steam ID get's a large or reasonable amount of reports, then BanCandy will actually check the player out.

I don't think using name fakers are going to do much as you can't spoof your Steam ID (well perhaps you can but it'd take alot of trouble). So yeah, using name changers to pretend to be another player in the same match might save you but otherwise you're probably screwed.

if it was an IP ban couldnt i just change my ip and mac address also if it was an ip ban my new key wouldnt of worked! and yes bancandy is a she but now aparently <may be spelt wrong spelling sucks donkey ass! they have a team of iW devs working along side bancandy the iW anti cheat team dont know if they all bancandys or what dont really care i was stupid the way i was cheating but ill not trace through walls this time ill run around and turn in to them lol

But if you use NAMEFAKER find a URL that they came into the lobby before quickly changing STEAM NAME NAMEFAKER and titles, and emblems should change.
