It doesn't seem like much of an improvement.

I'll wait till Haswell is released.

My 2600k is 2012 proof. I ain't gonna upgrade till something good comes out that is well worth it. From the mobos I see on newegg, it's a slight improvement over Sandybridge.

It's only worth an investment if you're upgrading from Nehalem or Conroe. People with Sandy Bridge will do just fine, the improvement is only marginal, and for gaming the greatest gains come from MVP in conjunction with the Intel HD 4000.

And there is no way to know whether you have one, just depends on the batch?

Im definitely upgrading since im still using am2 socket and the ib processors are relatively cheap, and the motherboards support newer tech (thunderbolt, usb3, pcie 3.0,) all in the package so this is a really good upgrade for $800 (thats how much my new computer will cost)

No you shouldn't cancel your 3930k order... 3930k Hex vs 3770k Quad... Both use PCI-E 3.0...

only the 3770k uses pci-e 3 and the number of cores ain't that important when the 3930k is 200 euros more expensive and the performance boost is well... not even noticeable.

Only wish the GTX680 wasn't using beta drivers...

Yepp there should be a batch number on the CPU itself AFAIK, so sometimes you'll get lucky and the get the good batch.

The GTX680 even with beta drivers overpowers the 7970 (which has a lot more raw power than the nvidia counterpart), who knows what the final drivers will throw at us?

I'm also getting the Gainward Phantom GTX680 sometime the next week or so.
