Ok I figured out tons more. I've tried changing a few values of 14 (14 tiles x and y) but I just saw the blue and dc'd, will be trying a lot more tomorrow.

I might make a tutorial later on how to do this. Ikulip mentioned face3d in one of his posts on this thread. That would be a good place to start.
So far I've done this. "A value" isn't too specific so it's mostly guesswork for me.

Nice job. All you need to do now is expand that radius.
You have to look at the function and think to yourself, what am I trying to achieve? What I did was make sure the if statement always executed how I wanted it to. Once you've done this you'll notice that the viewing radius isn't very large (looks much like the one in your pic). This is all you are going to get out of that function. So keep that, and carry on your search to other parts of the code that may help with your problem.
